Biography

Md Saify Ababil is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at World University of Bangladesh and a research-oriented architect with a background in urban innovation and sustainability. His academic and professional work bridges architecture, urban research, and climate-responsive design, with particular interests in coastal adaptation, resilience, settlement studies, and sustainable built environments. He completed his Master of Science in Urban Innovation and Sustainability at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, where his research focused on coastal adaptation systems in Samut Sakhon, Thailand.

Before joining World University of Bangladesh, he worked as a Research Assistant in the ReTrEAT Cities Project, contributing to literature reviews, field-based documentation, case study research, and the preparation of visual and written research outputs across coastal communities in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He also has professional experience in architectural and interior design practice in Bangladesh.

At World University of Bangladesh, he teaches undergraduate courses including design studio, Thesis, settlement and community architecture, Climate change and architecture adaptation and design research methods. His teaching approach emphasizes contextual understanding, critical thinking, and the translation of research into design ideas. His broader interests include climate adaptation, urban resilience, vernacular and community-based spatial practices, and the integration of research with architectural education and practice.
